Chateau de Mille Blanc

A fresh, elegant and complex wine made from clairette, ugni blanc and rolle

Terroir North facing, altitude of around 300 m, Oligocene and Miocene lacustrine limestones

Culture

70 year old Clairette and Ugni, 4 year old Rolle; organic fertilizer; active promotion of biodiversity and enrichment of the microbiome. Certified organic by Ecocert

Harvest

Manual, between late August and mid-September

Winemaking

Ugni 40%, Clairette 25%, Rolle 35%.

Slow pressing of whole bunches at low temperature; indigenous yeasts, malolactic fermentation done. Aged without sulfur for 8 months in demi-muids, concrete egg, stoneware jar and stainless steel vat.

Tasting 

Dress: pale gold

Nose: ripe yellow-fleshed fruits, dried fruits, hint of almond.

Fresh attack, then opulent mouth, good length.

Balance between acidity and roundness.
